If you’ve been following my work for a while you probably know I’m all about photos of parents with their children. Luckily these adorable cousins made it work even without Mom & Dad. If I was their Grandma I know I would love this gift!! 🙂
I’m not going to lie, I was pretty nervous for this Day In The Life shoot with LKSquared Photography. I wanted to lose weight first, have the cleaning lady come, get my hair and nails done, have our clothes planned out, but of course none of that happened. And none of it mattered. I knew I had to do this from the moment I met Lauren and heard about documentary photography. I’d look at her work and videos of families I’d never met before and find myself tearing up. I was so jealous that they had all those moments captured so beautifully. A whole day, from wake up to bedtime. I take tons of photos of my girls but it’s different when you have the whole story. Plus, I get to be in the photos for a change!!! Oh and my husband had no problem with it once he heard he wouldn’t have to smile for even one photo 🙂
Some people might not understand why I’d want photos of my girls making me crazy, crying, or full of boogers. This is why.
These cuties have grown so much since I saw them last year. It feels like yesterday that I was photographing them as newborns! I remember B was born around the same time as my oldest daughter. When Mom told me she was pregnant again I remember thinking, wow, I could not imagine having another so quickly!! It’s really awesome to see how close these two have become. You can see a couple of our past sessions here and here. 🙂

There is not much that makes me happier than a family that is up for having some fun and being a little adventurous with their kids during a session! Kids are so much happier when they have a little freedom, and who can blame them! I took a few families towards the lake at a nearby park this past Summer/Fall season. I loved every minute of it. The light is so pretty by the water and the kids love to explore and see new things. These two handsome boys were the perfect little models. I have yet to blog little brother’s newborn session, but, you can probably see some of those images if you look through my facebook page. They are the cutest brothers, so sweet together, and just look at those faces!! <3

I’ve had the pleasure of photographing this family for a few years now. I love watching their gorgeous girl grow from year to year. You can see a few photos from one of our first sessions together on an old blog post here. And they recently became a family of four!! See some photos from little brother’s newborn session below 🙂 Here is one of my favorite sessions with these guys, we made some fun family beach portraits on a super windy day!

Is it Summer yet?? I cannot wait to head back to the beach for sessions. This is probably one of my favorites from last Summer. These guys were moving out of Long Beach and wanted beach photos before leaving. Their little boy was so delicious I wanted to eat him up. Check him out in his adorable little outfit!!
