Whenever I photograph this family I’m in awe. It’s not often I meet a family with more than 3 children these days. When I photographed their first daughter’s christening, she was the youngest of 5.  It was a beautiful day that went surprisingly smoothly!!

Now little A is a big sister!! One of 6, but still the only girl! 6 kids under 8 years old and a Great Dane!!!! I had to ask mom what her secret was, I can barely keep it together with 2 kids… She said that the main thing that helps her get through it all is keeping calm and grounded.  “They have enough crazy to go around and certainly don’t need mine added to the mix”.  So true!! Kids feed off their parents, I see it so often at my sessions and of course with my own girls. She also reminds herself how lucky she is to have had 6 pregnancies and 6 heathy babies that she gets to stay home and raise. Gratitude is so important. I found this quote recently, “It’s not happiness that brings us gratitude. It’s gratitude that brings us happiness”. I love that.

And of course let’s not forget her glass of wine and reality TV once the kids are in bed! 😉 Thanks so much L for sharing your insight and your beautiful family with me!!
